Valis, your smurf collection is TOO COOL!!!!!!
That '80's childhood memorabilia is so in vogue now, but I have always liked it. Just got (for christmas) the plug and play TV Games classic arcade controller with the 5 Namco games including Pac Man. I am so psyched! As a kid, I traded my Atari 2800 and games for another friends sizeable Transformers collection (I obviously was not raised witness). I wish I still had either one. Anyway, love the Smurfs!

Did I do it wrong? Country_Woman, I was refering to Hooked on Phonics, or HOP. You know, the new wave learning tool that teaches reading by spelling everything the way it sounds? I thought it was a crock, but the company still advertises, so what do I know?
Will
OOOPS!!!!!!!!! Forgive me! I just realized you are Dutch, and therefore would not have the same commercial courses to teach english speaking American kiddies how to spell their own language that we might have here!!!. Anyway, I think you get what it is from the first part of the post.
Best regards - Will

Pet experiences
by missy04 inwho here thinks that pets can feel alot of human emotions?
i had the cutest thing happen with my beagle dog dixie last night.
i sat down next to her to give her a kiss before i went to sleep and when my face got about a foot from her head, she went "errrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr" my dad and i thought it was so funny that she was growling at me for even being close to her that i put my face down by her head again and when it got about a foot away, she softly growled again.. i repeated it again..and she howled really loud and acted like she was gonna get me lol.

I don't think anyone who has lived with a dog could refute the fact that they feel human emotions. It is especially evident when you have more than one, as they will react to situations differently. I've always despised the Societies view that loving your pet is idolatry, or whatever their cockamaimie reasoning. There are very few people in my life that I care about like I care for my pets. And I take no shame in that. I have to wrap this reply up now, as my doggies want to play. Thanks for the observation. Beagles are special (although mine tended to follow his nose more than my commands!).

Positive about jw
by one inthere are many thing i dont regret about jw
learning from jw about cristmas is one of them
the jw were very open about cristmas, going against the "system" require some strenght and that in itself attracted many to the jw org.

Hey! Anyone joining on their own, without growing up JW must have seen something positive, or they wouldn't have stayed around long enough for it to be an issue! Like many things in life we wouldn't repeat - be it a love, job, religious experiance, whatever - it is wholsome to reflect upon the positive experiences. Otherwise that time would be a TOTAL loss. Just because I made a fool of myself, skipped college, turned my back on friends, strained family relations (they are all non-JW's), and wen't on a pointless rebellion spree upon getting out does not make it a total waste. I had many good friends (some of which still talk to me, even!), learned a lot about myself, and people in general, stayed out of trouble, etc. A friend introduced me to the "truth." Sometimes I wish I had never met him. The funny thing is he is driving through my state today, and will be stopping by. I'm rambling now. I hope most share the view of myself and ONE's post.

Somebody- Please Help Me UNDERSTAND?
by upside/down ini understand there is a ton of anger out there toward the wts and dub's, and rightly so... what i don't understand is this notion that there is an evil conspiracy on the part of the wts and dubs as individuals to subjugate and control the unwary (or however you want to label us) for some evil sinister purpose.
i know what they are doing and agree it's wrong but to what purpose- i mean you can look at televangelist and see what's up with them (follow the money).
but what's up with the dub's.

What has not yet been mentioned is the parallel my twisted mind occasionally draws between how I feel the Society operates, and their poignantly derrided "Christiandom" and false religion that will overtake the earth at Armageddon (sorry I have been out for so long I have forgotten the phrase they use for this. Anyway, it's my contention that the majority of Witnesses are earnest, well intentioned ones (or at least start out that way). Rather than propagate conspiracy theories, I just laugh at the irony of the fact that they are being mislead by something all too similar to the System they are warning about. Talk about not seeing the forest between the trees! Does this mean I think the GB is being led by a sinister force? I haven't formed an oppinion on that yet (would an agnostic's oppinion matter anyway?). Anyway, think about it. I find it compelling.

Harley versus God
by Golf inthe inventor of the harley davidson motorcycle corporation, arther davidson, died and went to heaven.
at the gates, st peter told arthur, "since you've been a good man and your motorcycles have changed the world, your reward is, you can hang out with anyone you want in heaven.
arthur thought about it for a minute and then said, "i want to hang out with god.

Great humor!!! This joke is widely circulated on internet joke pages, but I was not able to identify the author, although I'm not too persistent. I was actually trying to verify the widespread notion among motorcycle industry insiders such as myself that the DAVIDsons were in fact among the chosen people (read "Hebrews" not "FDS"), and therefore wouldn't be entering through the front gate. The current board of directors certainly play a lot of dreidel while on break. Anyway I've been wanting to post to this forum for some time, and seeing this was the prompt (not to mention having the dogs wake me at 6 - must be the remains of christmas dinner still on the table).
Incidently, if someone wants a fair deal on a used Harley, I'm selling one of mine to help finance the lifestyle I have adopted since being married. In otherwords, to answer anothers reply, in my case the woman is turning out to be MORE expensive than the bike.

Will
